School and University students are a common sight at Tiwest's operations. Some of the student visitors help to create wildlife sanctuaries, others learn about wetland diversity.
Many university students visit Tiwest for work experience in metallurgy, chemistry, engineering or other disciplines which lead to careers in industry and technology. The students and the educational projects they tackle, are part of the extensive community consultation programmes at each site.
For some years now Tiwest has sponsored the Young Achievement Australia (YAA) Program, where students based near Chandala learn about the rigours and realities of the business world by setting up a business and making critical decisions about marketing, human resources, management and accounting.
